Button Actions: custom and ideas

Anyone interested in talking about the button actions? I was thinking it might be nice to have more options. Long hold: power on and off(I accidentally turn it off when with double tap sometimes) Single tap: mute Double tap: process conversation It shouldn’t be too hard to make each of these options select able to different actions, but I’m no programmer so I can only suggest and hope you geniuses can make it work. Cheers.

Ability to speak to chat through Omi

The point of this device is to use your voice for commands and having a personal note taker. I think when you open the chat, it should automatically start using either the phone mic or Omi mic to talk with Omi to have a conversation. Right now it feels rigid with needing to either type or manually activate the mic each time

Show me Hidden Patterns in my Life

I want my OMI to recognize personal patterns over a period of time based on stuff I say, experience, etc. And then I want there to be a "Hub" where I can see these patterns and provide feedback (helpful/not helpful). For example, maybe I talk way too much when I have 1:1s with co-workers. I want my Pendant to tell me that. Or maybe my mood tends to be worse when I wake up before 7am. Or maybe I'm a really good storyteller - I want my Pendant to let me know that. Or maybe it can leverage third party data too...things like weather, stock market, key dates, etc. Basically, give me interesting insights/patterns/correlations in my life that I wouldn't think to recognize or connect.

Mute indicator

I would really like the LED to display mute status. Nothing crazy, just a simple colour change between the two states, or the LED switching off when muted (a colour change would be preferable). Muted, connected: yellow Unmuted, connected: blue Muted or unmuted, disconnected: red But that’s just a suggestion.

Detect if using desktop app and kill the pendant to save battery

Seems like system should be able to figure out if i am ona. Call or meeting on desktop and disable pendant. I assume it would save the battery a lot on pendant. Guess it could be problematic but I am looking for any actual recording being done on desktop equals pendant off.

Contextual Awareness

1. Feature Description: Context Awareness Core is a built-in intelligence module that analyzes the user’s situational data (location, time, environment, hardware status, calendar) and allows Omi to make smarter, context-aware decisions. It provides a background intelligence layer for other systems, enabling them to adapt based on real-world conditions. 2. Use Cases: At home → relaxed mode At work → focus mode Late night → silent notifications On the move → reduce voice prompts During meetings → silent assistance and note summarization With headphones → enable focus sessions Airplane mode → emergency fallback behavior 3. Benefits: Smarter timing and interaction Adaptive notifications Minimizes distractions Enhances other systems’ decision-making accuracy Makes Omi feel genuinely aware of surroundings 5. Android & iOS Feasibility: Android: Flexible access to sensor and environment data iOS: Restrictions on background and contextual tracking Solution: Combine mobile app (calendar, system) with wearable device (audio, movement, proximity) 6. Suggested Working Principle: Data Collection from multiple sources Context Profile Generation: Using the above inputs, Omi generates a live context profile that defines the user's current environment and mental mode. For example: Location: Home | Time: 22:30 | Ambient: Quiet | Headphones: No → Context: User is in wind-down or relax mode This profile becomes a foundation for adaptive decision-making. Adaptive System Tuning for notifications, suggestions, responses Periodic Refresh or on-change update every 10–15 mins

Automatic Daily Prompts

I’m really excited for my consumer Omi, but I have a couple suggestions for features after looking through the app. Forgive me if these already exist, but I am going off of what I’ve seen. First, the ability to mark a prompt as “repeat daily” would be a huge time saver for people who want daily advice, or check ins, on any given topic or practice. This feature could grant users the ability to gain a different perspective on their daily habits, or it could just make the bot say “Pizza time!” every day at noon. Second, a “Custom Word Dictionary” could enable users to add slang or uncommon business/hobby words to their bot’s vocabulary. This could enable anyone to get tailored advice on conversations filled with uncommon words, or strings of uncommon words. Those are all the suggestions I have for now! Thank you for reading, and please have a good rest of your day/night. If anyone has any questions or corrections, please feel free to share. Draven, USA

Import previously exported data back into the app

Hi Omi team, I used the in-app export to download my data. After exporting, I deleted my data inside the app. I now want to bring that exported data back into Omi, but there’s currently no way to re-import it. Request Add an Import feature that can take an export file created by Omi and restore it into the app. Why it matters Prevents permanent loss after accidental deletion Makes export an actual backup workflow Helps when switching phones or reinstalling the app Builds trust. Users can safely experiment knowing they can restore Suggested UX Settings → Data → Export / Import Import flow shows a preview: date range, item counts, size Options: Merge with existing data Replace existing data Import into a new workspace/profile (optional) Safety checks Confirm before overwrite Warn if file format version differs Clear error message if file is corrupted Local-only import is fine. Cloud optional If helpful, I can share the export file format details and the exact steps I took. Thanks, Jonah

Expose battery percentage via standard Bluetooth methods

Discord thread: https://discord.com/channels/1192313062041067520/1450700506489163817 Should 3rd party apps, in theory, be able to read the Omi Dev Kit 2's battery status/percent charge? Specifically it'd be great if the android "Multi-Device Energy Monitor AI" app would work with it. This app allows battery use to be graphed over time, and gives estimates of run times. https://watchandnavy.com/bluetooth-device-monitor/#bluetooth-connectivity-types https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=strange.watch.longevity.ion For reference: ---------- Forwarded message --------- From: Liam Akakpo Date: Wed, Dec 17, 2025, 4:10 AM Subject: Re: Energy Monitor: "Which Bluetooth devices can I monitor? Is there any way to troubleshoot if a device does not appear?" To: Hi Danny, Thanks for getting in touch. Energy Monitor can only monitor Bluetooth devices that expose their battery level via standard Bluetooth protocols. Some devices, including dev kits and custom hardware, use proprietary protocols, which means their battery data isn’t visible to

Feature Request: Multi-Device Management & Smart Switching

Currently, the Omi app only supports one active device connection at a time. Users who own multiple Omi wearables (e.g., CV1, Omi Glass, and Bee) must manually unpair their current device and pair a new one every time they want to switch hardware. This creates significant friction for power users who change devices based on their environment or situation. Proposed Solution Implement a "Multi-Device" management system that allows the app to store multiple paired device profiles and switch between them intelligently. Key Functional Requirements: Device Profiles: Allow the app to remember multiple paired devices (CV1, Bee, Glass) simultaneously so that "forgetting" a device is no longer necessary. Default Device Designation: Users should be able to set a "Default" device that the app prioritizes for connection when launched. Manual Selection Menu: Provide a simple interface (within Device Settings) to manually toggle between "Available" paired devices. Failover Logic: If the active device is disconnected or powered off, the app should automatically attempt to connect to the "Default" device or the next available paired device in the list. Connection Conflict Management: If a paired device is turned on while another is already active, the app should prompt the user or allow them to manually choose to switch, rather than automatically hijacking the current session. User Experience (Example) “I am wearing my Omi Glasses at work. When I get home, I turn on my CV1. Instead of going into Bluetooth settings to unpair the glasses, I simply select the CV1 from a list in the Omi app, or the app recognizes the CV1 is now the only active device and switches automatically.” Benefits Reduced Friction: Eliminates the 3-step "Unpair/Forget/Repair" workaround currently required. Scalability: Prepares the Omi ecosystem for users who will eventually own a suite of different specialized wearable sensors. Improved UX: Aligns the app experience with modern Bluetooth standards (similar to how smartphones manage multiple pairs of headphones or smartwatches).

Omi as background service

When you close the Omi app, the service stops working. I would like there to be an option where you can physically close the app while Omi continues running in the background. Right now, when I clear all my open apps, Omi also stops working. Sometimes I realize too late that I accidentally did this, and then I miss important information that Omi should have recorded for me.

iOS-shortcut integration

What if we had shortcut integration, so we could ask Siri to start a new voice recording hands-free without the Omi device. This would also mean that Omi could do a lot more Apple related things without the need for a whole ton of new integrations

Background voices issue / single press customisation

There have been several requests about this going back almost a year, but as far as I can tell, nothing has really changed when it comes to handling background audio or conversations. My main reason for buying Omi was to use it as a kind of second brain for quickly capturing TODOs, ideas, random thoughts, reminders, etc. On paper, the Omi pendant seemed perfect for this. The problem is that I work from home and often have music playing in the background. Omi picks it up unnecessarily, which clutters my conversations/notes and, more importantly, wastes minutes from my plan. There seem to be several possible ways to solve this, but so far none of them have been implemented: Let us configure what a single press of the pendant button does. Ideally when I listen to music while working, I would like Omi to stay muted, press the button to start listening, say my note, then press it again to stop. Currently, muting/unmuting requires a double click, which isn’t always recognized correctly. It would also be really useful if the LED changed color while the device is muted, so you could immediately tell its current state. I believe this would be the perfect and easiest solution to implement. Integration with Plaud Note Pro. Plaud Note Pro actually works more or less the way I want by default: I decide when I want it to record. Unfortunately, the Plaud ecosystem and its lack of integrations make it pretty terrible for my “second brain” use case. Omi has much more potential here (eg Todoist integration), so being able to use Plaud Note Pro as an input device for Omi would be a great solution. Only detect the owner’s voice. This would probably be technically more difficult and potentially less reliable than options 1 and 2, but voice recognition that ignores music, TV, other people, etc. could also help. Is there any plan to finally address this? Or has anyone found a good workaround that allows Omi to be used primarily for intentional, short voice notes rather than continuous recording? Without something like this, Omi is unfortunately pretty much useless for my use case. If I only wanted to record meetings or longer conversations, I already have Plaud Note Pro for that. What I really want from Omi is the ability to quickly capture a thought or TODO and have it become part of my second brain, without recording everything happening around me in between.

Import audio into OMI as a conversation

Listening

I would like more control over when the device listens. The option to make it required to manually start and stop listening would be ideal. For instance, if the device is inadvertently turned off then back on, or was off and you are turning it on for the first time that day, this setting, set to manual will prevent the device from automatically start listening. If the manual toggle is off, the device behaves as it does now.

MY CURRENT EXPERIENCE - GOOD AND BAD

Good: Form factor, size and weight acceptable Always on, always listening option is ABSOLUTE NECESSITY. Thank you. The ecosystem, iOS and MacOS apps, are excellent. And getting better all the time.THANK YOU. Bad: Form factor - the design with the click is extremely easy to click accidentally and turn off or on. The responsiveness of that click and buzz is EXTREMELY inconsistent and is quite irritating. Depending on how I’m wearing it there are numerous occasions where pendant is DISCONNECTED or offline and I miss critical data. I see there are a lot of complaints about disconnections… The wearing options: the pendant gel rubber option, and even the wrist bracelet options are both POOR QUALITY and not made to last. The bracelet option is simply dangerous as for really active people, that Omi is going to POP OUT for sure. I’m 70, and not at gym all day, and I’ve had issues with it. I’ve now designed my own through clothing magnet option that places it where I don’t think will get disturbed accidentally and I’m aware of it all day long. And I think without the rubber ring around it mic sound clarity might even improve. I wear a Looki L1 body cam and it sits exactly where the Omi pendant would so I needed another wear option… Pendant proprietary charge cable: C’mon guys. Redesign it with a direct USB-C charge port! You make us go around having to carry this special charge cable in 2026. Why? The Limitless Pendant set the bar for these… I realize there are iOS limitations, but I know others have found backdoors to being able to capture bluetooth. At least 90% of my phone calls are over bluetooth, and NEVER holding phone up to my ear. Calls on speakers, most of the time, are not appropriate as I’m always in public settings or an office with others around. MUST come up with a plan for this reality in 2026! Heck, even AT&T now gives you option to record ALL calls and save them, transcripts and all. Just hate to go chasing all this down in different ecosystems, if Omi can provide it. Not having PLAYABLE, USABLE, AUDIO for all recordings, to recall on demand, is a big one. Again, Limitless set that bar very high. I do have, and pay for the Google Drive audio backup, but I don’t know how that will even work. I haven’t even tried to listen to it. But having audio within the app, available, searchable (“play the last phone call I had with my brother John”, or “play what the mechanic said about fixing my transmission in June of last year”, etc.) is really an invaluable asset to have. And Limitless HAD THAT. Now with it in Meta’s hands, who knows!! PLEASE WORK ON THIS. WISH could substitute the OMI pendant with the Limitless Pendant, but was told it would not integrate and the app will not work. That’s a wish list item…

Chat With Summary

It's great to have when I select a part, it tells me which section of the transcription it comes from. I want to read more about a certain part in the summary, but I need to find it in the transcription having to read through a lot of text.like with perplexity; when I hover over or select the text, it gives me the exact source. I would like something similar in the summary so that when I select a part, it tells me which section of the transcription it comes from.

Hopefully the right place for this; just an idea for the Omi App. With summaries being pretty constant, l will have 50+ a day. Could a bookmark feature be added, so we can save important summaries. Alternatively, like within ChatGPT itself now, could a folder system be introduced so we can organise the summaries?

Geolocation

You can link geocoordinates to the timestamps of your transcript. This gave the LLM (Gemini, in my instance) the context that if I'm at home, (or a residence), the chance that I have a panel of people debating the news, or me going to Pandora wouldn't make sense, and it's most likely media. Conversely, it knows if I'm at a theatre and as such, knows the majority of what's going on is most likely a movie. Also if Inoticed me moving large distances it recognized it as travel So it would say "while travelling to x" and contained the transcript, again noting that there's a higher chance of podcasts or music about to be played. If the text sounds more like pe ople talking intensely about a certain topic, and had things like sponsors or an ad break then obviously mark it as such. Worked out really well.

Smart Contextual Reminders

Feature Description: Omi will introduce a contextual reminder feature that adjusts reminders and schedules based on real-time external factors such as weather, traffic conditions, and location. This feature will help users make better-informed decisions by dynamically adapting their reminders. Use Cases: A user says, "Omi, wake me up at 7:00 AM for work," and Omi adjusts the wake-up time based on real-time traffic conditions. A user says, "Remind me to take an umbrella tomorrow," and Omi activates the reminder only if rain is expected. "Omi, remind me to go to the gym," but if it's raining, Omi suggests an indoor workout alternative. When the user asks, "What’s the weather like today?", Omi provides suggestions based on planned activities. A user requests, "Omi, let me know when I should leave for my meeting," and Omi factors in traffic data to give a precise notification. Benefits: Optimizes user schedules based on contextual data. Saves time by preventing unnecessary delays. Helps users make better decisions regarding outdoor plans. Enhances user experience with personalized and intelligent reminders. Potential Challenges and Risks: Ensuring reliability of traffic and weather data. Preventing excessive schedule modifications that may disrupt user routines. Performance optimization for real-time data processing. Implementation on Android and iOS: Android can use "Foreground Service" for continuously updating contextual reminders. iOS can leverage "Background App Refresh" and "Location Services" for smart notifications. Real-time weather and traffic updates can be fetched via API integration. Cloud synchronization ensures reminders remain consistent across devices. Proposed Working Mechanism: The user sets a reminder for a specific time or event. Omi analyzes weather, traffic, or other contextual factors. If necessary, Omi updates the reminder to optimize the user’s plan. The user receives a notification about the updated reminder. Users can customize sensitivity levels for contextual recommendations.

Improved Speaker Diarization & Persistent Speaker Tagging

Speaker diarization currently struggles with accurately identifying speakers, especially in single-speaker conversations where the system should confidently recognize one speaker at all times. Additionally, users should have the ability to tag speakers manually, and those tags should persist across conversations, reducing the need for repeated identification. Challenges Inconsistent speaker recognition: A user speaking solo should be identified with 100% accuracy. Limited diarization accuracy: The current model (Deepgram’s diarization) misidentifies or fails to consistently assign speaker labels. Lack of persistent speaker tags: Users must repeatedly tag speakers, as the system does not remember identities across different conversations.

Merge Conversations

Sometimes we may have a summary that spans multiple concepts or conversations, it would be great to be able to find that location in the transcript and split it into two or more transcripts then run the summary again. Or even sometimes maybe just delete something from the transcript, for example on Omi desktop today - I finished a meeting and forgot to stop the transcript and started talking to someone after the meeting in my office, I was planning to share the conversation with my meeting participant but now I have extra information I don’t need in that transcript/summary that is unrelated to the meeting without any way to remove it before sharing. Pairs well with @Add ability to edit Conversations to enable a better shared experience to edit some things before sharing and @Option to Manually Combine Summaries because sometimes a longer conversation is split up into multiple conversations and you may want to bring them back together into one summary.
