Feature Request: Multi-Device Management & Smart Switching

Currently, the Omi app only supports one active device connection at a time. Users who own multiple Omi wearables (e.g., CV1, Omi Glass, and Bee) must manually unpair their current device and pair a new one every time they want to switch hardware. This creates significant friction for power users who change devices based on their environment or situation.

Proposed Solution

Implement a "Multi-Device" management system that allows the app to store multiple paired device profiles and switch between them intelligently.

Key Functional Requirements:

  1. Device Profiles: Allow the app to remember multiple paired devices (CV1, Bee, Glass) simultaneously so that "forgetting" a device is no longer necessary.

  2. Default Device Designation: Users should be able to set a "Default" device that the app prioritizes for connection when launched.

  3. Manual Selection Menu: Provide a simple interface (within Device Settings) to manually toggle between "Available" paired devices.

  4. Failover Logic: If the active device is disconnected or powered off, the app should automatically attempt to connect to the "Default" device or the next available paired device in the list.

  5. Connection Conflict Management: If a paired device is turned on while another is already active, the app should prompt the user or allow them to manually choose to switch, rather than automatically hijacking the current session.

User Experience (Example)

  • β€œI am wearing my Omi Glasses at work. When I get home, I turn on my CV1. Instead of going into Bluetooth settings to unpair the glasses, I simply select the CV1 from a list in the Omi app, or the app recognizes the CV1 is now the only active device and switches automatically.”

Benefits

  • Reduced Friction: Eliminates the 3-step "Unpair/Forget/Repair" workaround currently required.

  • Scalability: Prepares the Omi ecosystem for users who will eventually own a suite of different specialized wearable sensors.

  • Improved UX: Aligns the app experience with modern Bluetooth standards (similar to how smartphones manage multiple pairs of headphones or smartwatches).
