Detect if using desktop app and kill the pendant to save battery

Seems like system should be able to figure out if i am ona. Call or meeting on desktop and disable pendant. I assume it would save the battery a lot on pendant. Guess it could be problematic but I am looking for any actual recording being done on desktop equals pendant off.
