User App Prioritization

Feature Description:

Allow users to sort the apps inside Omi (e.g., summarizer, extractor) based on usage frequency or personal preference, to quickly access frequently used apps without searching through a long, unsorted list.

Use Cases:

  1. User wants the frequently used Summarizer app to appear at the top.

  2. User wants to pin favorite apps in a separate "Favorites" section.

  3. User wants automatic sorting based on usage statistics.

  4. User wants to manually reorder apps via drag-and-drop.

  5. User wants to mark some apps as low-priority to appear at the bottom.

Benefits:

  • Faster access to most-used tools.

  • Personalized experience based on real usage.

  • Time-saving, especially with many apps.

  • Improved user satisfaction and engagement.

Challenges and Risks:

  • Requires per-user state management on the backend.

  • Drag-and-drop UI takes additional design effort.

  • Automatic sorting might feel intrusive to some users.

  • Needs special care in mobile UX to ensure smooth usability.

Suggested Workflow:

  1. User opens the “App List” screen.

  2. Optionally activates “Reorder Mode” or “Favorites”.

  3. Reorders apps via drag-and-drop or stars favorite ones.

  4. The system stores this order in the backend.

  5. The list is rendered based on user-defined order every time.
