What I’m asking for: A way to tell Omi who I am, who my coworkers are, our roles, and how we interact, so it can reason about relevance instead of guessing.
Context: I’m a remote senior product designer at a legal tech company with ~600 employees. We have multiple departments (product design, engineering, sales, marketing, product, etc. ) plus managers, leadership, and subject matter experts (SMEs) I meet with regularly. We run on Slack and Teams, and the context switches constantly.
The problem: Omi sometimes assumes I’m an engineer and generates tasks from Slack messages where engineering is just chatting through an item. Those aren’t actionable for me as a designer, so I get noise instead of signal. Same for other chats in Slack between other employees, Omi inherently assumes it’s all relevant to me when they are not.
What would help:
Define my own role and team
Add coworkers with their roles/departments
Optionally note relationships (manager, PM, SME, cross-functional partner)
Let Omi use that to decide what’s actually relevant to me before creating tasks or summaries
The payoff: much more accurate task detection and summaries for anyone working across a larger org with several departments and overlapping conversations.
