Regarding the incorrect sending of Enter when typing Japanese in Chat with Omi

This is a request for improvement regarding message sending behavior when using the Japanese IME.

Current Status:

  • In Chat with Omi, when pressing Enter to confirm kanji conversion while entering Japanese, the message may be sent immediately.

  • The IME's conversion confirmation operation conflicts with the app's "send trigger," resulting in frequent erroneous messages in Japanese environments.

Key Points of the Problem:

  • It appears that Enter pressed during IME composition (conversion) is processed as the send key.

  • In chat UIs designed for Japanese input, Enter during composition is not used for sending, and only "Enter pressed again after confirmation" is sent.

Suggested improvements:

  1. Do not initiate a send process when pressing the Enter key during composition (IME conversion).

  2. Provide an option for user-configurable send methods.

  • Example:

  • Enter: Line break / Cmd+Enter: Send

  • Enter: Send / Shift+Enter: Line break

  1. (If possible) In the Japanese UI, set the default to something like this:

  • "Enter = Line break, Cmd+Enter = Send."

For Japanese users, repeated mis-sends can easily lead to a state where they feel they need to type carefully or they'll become scared and unable to use the app. This directly affects the user experience, so I'd appreciate your consideration.
