Pendant disconnecting even with app left open and background usage enabled

I leave my Omi app open all the time. Background usage for the app is enabled and I've disallowed Android from managing the app if unused. Still, if I don't look at the app for a few hours, it disconnects from my wearable. It reconnected as soon as I focus on the app, again. Usually after I notice the “disconnected” notification.

I have a fully updated Pixel 9.
