Offline recording in red‑light mode seems broken on CV1 (no backfill)
Category
Bug / Regression
Description
Device: Omi consumer (CV1), hardware v5
Firmware: 3.0.13
The consumer Omi used to record when the device was on with a red light (not connected to the app). It would save audio in multi‑minute blocks to internal storage and then slowly upload those blocks when I later opened the app and connected, so conversations from that “red‑light time” would appear in my history.
On firmware 3.0.13 this no longer seems to happen.
Steps to reproduce
Turn Omi on away from my phone / without opening the app.
Confirm red LED (device on, not BT‑connected).
Talk continuously for ~2–3 minutes.
Turn the device off.
Later, turn it back on near my phone, open the Omi app with internet, leave it connected for several minutes.
Check the Conversations list for that time window.
Expected result
A conversation appears for the time when the light was red, representing the audio that was buffered to internal storage and then uploaded (this used to happen on the consumer device in earlier firmware).
Actual result
No conversation appears at all for that time period. It looks like no offline audio was stored or imported when the device was in red‑light mode.
Question
Was offline recording/backfill in red‑light mode intentionally removed/changed on CV1 in recent firmware, or is this a regression in 3.0.13?
Due to the fact Omi appears to disconnect from the app fairly regularly and unpredictably, I'm missing meetings/calls occasionally which is problematic.
