Longer conversations not processing

I have noticed that longer conversations that I record for work or deep discussion, oftentimes take a long time to process , and sometimes they ultimately disappear without processing. This has happened mostly around work meetings that are 30 minutes to an hour in length.

I can see them on the device , but when I attempt to upload or process the files they will often stall and eventually just disappear without processing.

This is a known issue, longer recordings can stall during processing and sometimes get stuck or lost. Team is aware and working on a fix. You could try to recover your existing recordings:

    1. Go to the Sync page (cloud icon) and check for pending stored recordings

    2. Sync via Bluetooth (more reliable than Wi-Fi for large files) — keep the app in the foreground the entire time

    3. After sync completes, check if conversations appear. If they show as "Processing" and stay stuck, that's the stalled processing bug

    To prevent this going forward:

    1. Keep the app in the foreground during long meetings — if the app gets suspended by the OS, the WebSocket connection drops and audio can be lost

    2. Check your internet connection is stable throughout — a brief drop can cause the live transcription to fail silently

    3. Disable battery optimization for Omi (Phone Settings → Apps → Omi → Battery → Unrestricted)

If recordings are stuck in "Processing": → There's currently no in-app way to force reprocess them. A community member built a workaround tool: https://github.com/tilly-gdf/tillys-omi-mcp — this can trigger reprocessing of stuck conversations via the API.

We've filed an issue for a built-in reprocess feature (#5097).

What's your phone model and OS? And are you on the latest app version?
