Hi Omi Support,
I’m using DevKit 2 and I’m experiencing a persistent audio quality issue:
Constant background crackling / ticking noise (“old film projector” type) is present in almost every recording.
It’s audible when listening in Conversations and also in Offline Sync / Recordings.
The noise is present regardless of storage mode: to phone and to SD card.
I exported recordings and the crackling is still present when playing the file outside the app, so it seems to be in the raw audio, not only the in-app player.
Speech-to-text problems (Whisper): when I select Whisper for transcription, it frequently hallucinates text during complete silence. I suspect it’s triggered by the constant crackling noise.
Additional detail: the device does not boot without the SD card (so SD seems required for operation).
Could you please advise:
Is there a known issue with DevKit 2 firmware/audio pipeline that can cause constant crackling?
Any recommended steps (firmware update/reset/calibration) to fix raw audio quality?
If this indicates a hardware problem, what diagnostics do you need from me (firmware version, logs, sample audio)?
I can provide:
exported sample recordings (silence + normal speech),
screenshots of Offline Sync settings,
app version, iOS version, and DevKit 2 firmware version.
Thanks!
