Equal pleasure and frustration

For what it is mainly designed for it probably does a great job but for someone who generally doesn't record meetings or lectures Omi can be extremely frustrating. I'm retired and really want Omi to be able to collate lists and reminders but there's no real intuitive way to create them. And I've tried a bunch of things and work arounds. And it's very hit and miss. Surely it's a pretty simple matter of creating a list or a reminder and for this to be available on one of the UIs? Can't you tweak your software as I'm sure there are thousands of users who really need this functionality

    Totally hear you, Omi is built around conversations, so creating lists/reminders without a natural conversation context can feel clunky.

    What works right now:

    • Say it out loud with your pendant on: "Remind me to call the dentist tomorrow" or "Add milk, bread, and eggs to my grocery list" — Omi picks up action items from speech and will add them to TASKS screen (list icon at the botoon of screen on mobile app)

    • Use the Chat tab in the app — type or voice-message things like "Create a reminder to take my medication at 9am" and Omi's AI should extract it

    • Apple Reminders sync (iOS) — action items Omi captures can sync to your Reminders app automatically (also other task managers too, check it at TASKS screen)


    Tips to make it more reliable:

    • Be explicit: "This is a reminder..." or "Add to my list..."

    • Check the Action Items section in each conversation. that's where Omi puts extracted tasks. Is no Action items are created, there’s no Action Items Section within the conversation.

    • Check the TASKS screen, tap the list icon located at the bottom of the app.

      • You’ll see a ( + ) icon there, that’s where you tap to add tasks manually.

      Thanks for the reply. I have tried a variety of variations of these types of phrases but it seems to add them randomly. And there doesn’t seem to be any consistency to it. And then to confuse matters even more it adds things to the task list that seem to be pretty random and for no real reason. Why might be better, for me at least, if I could create a recipe of statements for it so when I said something like ‘Add x to my shopping list’ or ‘remind me to book a ticket for….’ it would learn those specific phrases and act accordingly. Like a teaching mode to train it to recognise my specific phrases. The annoying thing is that I have Gemini on my Pixel Watch 4 and I can do those things with that but I really wanted this to work without the need to raise my arm and say’Hey Google’… I really want this to work and I’m sure with a little tweak here and there it can…
